Starting being established in 2001, Suqian High-tech Industrial Development Zone was approved as a provincial economic development zone by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province in 2006. In March 2012, it was finished. On February 13, 2017, it was upgraded as a national high-tech zone with the approval of the State Council. Der Park wurde als nationaler Spezialindustriestandort für Folienmaterial, als Provinzindustriepark für neue Materialien und Technologien, als IP-Pilotzone auf Provinzebene, als Provinz?konomiepark für Kreislaufwirtschaft, als Demonstrationsbasis für die fortschrittliche Industrialisierung (Neue Materialindustrie) der Provinz, als Spezialindustriebasis für die Integration von "Internet Plus" und fortschrittlicher Fertigung auf Provinzebene sowie als nationale Feuerschutz-High-Tech-Zone Suqian High-Tech-Industriepark für metallische Legierungen anerkannt.
